Watermarking stamps semi-transparent text or a logo across every page of a PDF — marking documents as Draft or Confidential, asserting ownership, or adding branding. You control the opacity, size, angle and position.
The watermark is applied in your browser with no upload. To make it permanent so a recipient cannot remove the layer, flatten the file afterwards. Our watermark guide has design tips.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use an image as a watermark?
Currently only text watermarks are supported. Image watermark support is planned.
Is the watermark permanent?
Yes — the text is embedded directly into each page's content stream and cannot be easily removed without dedicated tools.
Can I watermark only certain pages?
The current tool applies the watermark to all pages. Selective page watermarking is on the roadmap.
